John Wayne Bobbitt at risk of having foot amputated after injury

Nearly 30 years after his angry wife Lorena hacked off his penis as he slept — and then threw it out her car window — John Wayne Bobbitt now has a foot injury from a construction accident that may require amputation, he told TMZ.

Bobbitt’s penis was so successfully reattached, he was able to launch a successful porn career.

But the future of his left foot is less bright, the outlet reports.

Bobbitt told TMZ that in 2013, he was working a construction job in Buffalo and stepped on a nail.

The nail punctured his boot and pierced a toe, he told the outlet.

The nail had caused a nasty bone infection, as he realized only a few months later.

Since then, he has been to two hospitals, and aggressively treated with antibiotics, but the stubborn infection has spread throughout his foot.

Doctors are deciding whether to amputate, he told TMZ.

It’s a bad turn of events for Bobbitt, who told the outlet that last year, he lost a toe on his right foot due to another infection from another accidental cut.

Back in 1993, police in Manassas, Va., recovered the severed member from the side of the road and rushed it — packed in ice — to the hospital, where it was reattached during a 10-hour surgery.

“It came to us just in a bag of ice, concealed in a brown paper hot dog bag,” urological surgeon Dr. James Sehn recalled last year in a “20/20” special, “The Bobbitts: Love Hurts.”

Bobbitt was “surprisingly calm” as he lay in the hospital, waiting for his penis to be found and having lost a third of his blood, Sehn said.

“I would come to,” Bobbitt recalled in the special.

“And then a doctor would be there, and they would say that if they don’t find the, you know, other part, then they would have to just sew me up.”

His now-ex-wife, Lorena, has repeatedly said she lashed out at Bobbitt because he had beaten and raped her for years during their marriage.

He would be acquitted of rape, and she would be found not guilty, by reason of insanity, of malicious wounding.

She has no regrets, she said last year.
