Jeopardy! Fans Are Obsessed with Stylish Contestant Cindy Zhang
As the reigns of Jeopardy! superchamps Matt Amodio and Jonathan Fisher have come to an end, fans of the revered quiz show have latched onto another contestant on the show. Viewers were obsessed with Cindy Zhang on last night’s (Nov. 4) episode, thanks to her fashionable style sense, penmanship, and overall vibe.
The user-experience designer hails from New York, and got off to a flying start last night. But Jeopardy! audiences weren’t just impressed with her playing abilities. Sporting killer blonde bangs, a sheer black blouse, and retro cat-eyed glasses, Zhang caught America’s attention.
“Cindy’s the best dressed @Jeopardy contestant I’ve seen in a long time,” one user tweeted as she played the game. “The sleeves on this blouse. The glasses. The bangs. I’m here for it.”
That wasn’t all! Zhang also wooed audiences with her touching personal anecdote about collecting Kit Kat bars from all around the world. “In Japan especially, they have so many regional varieties. You can only get them in specific regions and train stations,” she told guest host Mayim Bialik. “They range anywhere from green tea matcha to soy beans to Cheetos.” Her favorite, of course, is the Okinawa sweet potato flavor of Kit Kat.
But the fans’ favorite aspect of Zhang? Her stellar penmanship. The contestant’s signature had fans wondering if she had used a typewriter to write out her name on the Jeopardy! stage.
“Nevermind the actual game, I want to know how Cindy on #Jeopardy tonight wrote her name so perfectly, including serifs!” one Jeopardy! fan tweeted.

Noticing the trend, Zhang responded to all the talk on Twitter: “for the record,” she tweeted, “i don’t always write with a serif, but when i do…”

Although she was a fan favorite, sadly, Zhang did not go on to win the game and therefore will not return for another game tonight. While she correctly answered Final Jeopardy, her wager was too conservative to beat fellow contestant Sri Kompella.
Jeopardy! airs weeknights on ABC at 7/6c.
