Facilities Specialist job with Ensco, Inc
ENSCO is seeking a Facilities Engineer / Facilities Specialist. Responsibilities include developing, reviewing, and approving plans for internal and external building modifications. The Facilities Specialist will support the Facilities Project Management Team with project management initiatives and projects including scope of work development, schedule development, and project execution. They will work supporting a team that conducts preventative maintenance and repairs to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, plumbing, and building electrical systems. The successful candidate will report to, and support, the Senior Facilities Specialist. The successful candidate will support the bidding process for new construction on the site by supporting pre-bid activities and analyzing bids.
The successful candidate will support:
- Building renovations including office space and bathrooms.
- Updates to electrical, plumbing, sewage, natural gas and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning installations in existing buildings.
- Renovations of parking lots and sidewalks.
- Upgrades to laboratory facilities.
- Oversight of construction and maintenance contractors while on site.
- Scheduling and execution of regular inspections to ensure compliance with all engineering and project performance requirements relevant to building, facilities, and equipment.
- Support of maintenance activities and troubleshooting as a technical resource.
- Support of safety initiatives.
- Assurance that maintenance, equipment and construction upgrades, and new constructions meet all applicable state and federal codes.
- Performance of duties associated with special events, including coordinating set-up and breakdown plans in a timely manner.
- Coordinating with purchasing personnel to order parts and supplies.
- Serving as a resource for building and equipment specialists, outside vendors and contractors on special projects.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required (Skills)
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience or equivalent
- Associate degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent
- Working knowledge of major trades such as carpentry, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical systems, and construction
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe suite
- Valid driver's license
- Strong organizational, follow-through, and time management skills
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to build professional and courteous relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to safely climb a 15-foot-high ladder.
- Ability to carry loads up to 25 lbs
- Ability to observe all safety and security procedures; determine appropriate action beyond guidelines; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.
- Railroad regulations require passing an e-RAILSAFE security background check and online safety tests to work on railroad properties.
- Wearing safety equipment (hardhat, steel-toe boots, protective vest, and protective eyeglasses) when working on railroad properties (ENSCO will provide all necessary safety equipment)
